Every child displays some signs and signals when they need to go to pee/poop. I like to call those signals “Potty Language”. Some of them are:
• Reddened face
• Holding breath
• Walking on tiptoe
• Crossing legs
• Hiding
• Squatting
• Frozen state
• Passing gas
• Holding or grabbing genitals
• Squirming
Identifying these body cues in the child helps in facilitating potty training. These signals help parents to prevent accidents or wetting the diaper. If the cues are not clear in the diaper then give some bottomless time.
